  • Looking for information sources (orbats)

antimedic 06-27-2005, 03:26 PM I am hoping the group can help me out. Any suggestions for good sources of information covering the worlds air forces and armies in the mid 80s to mid 90s. I have several of the Comabat Fleets of the World books covering that period, so the navies are covered. The Militray Balance series are nice, but I was looking for unit designations ( down to Sqd for AF and BDE for armies), which are not covered. Any ideas (other then Janes).

Ladyfyreyes 06-27-2005, 03:42 PM Write the department of defense. Tell them what you are looking for. I don't think it would still be classified so they might send it to you. I've gotten information that way before, not with the dod but other organizations.

Rainbow Six 06-27-2005, 04:10 PM You might want to try the orbat site, which has a lot of free info...

    Good luck!

if you look at the individual links many of the units have there history and links to homesites you can find most activation and deactivations and homebase
