Random equipment

I have been thinking about restarting my equipment database (work is REALLY boring right now) and I thought it would be fun have members post items that could be added to a random equipment list.

As you have time walk around your house and post maybe 10 things you think would be useful in the T2k/13 world and a similar number of odd things that you think no one else might have.

These in the end could become part of a random PC/NPC equipment list or prehaps a looting table for vehicles or buildings.

I thought more about it and I decided on "looting" my own house. The useful were the first 10 things that made it into the bag. (I assumed the food and medicine was spoiled and excluded complicated things like medical and tool kits)

Generally ignoring all the military kit I have lying around.

Useful items (no particular order):

1. Long back British infantry burgan in DPM with medic side pouch and ordinary pouch.
2. High leg Matterhorn boots with decent insoles.

The container rage for small size, ie briefcases and hand/shoulder bags, Medium containers, ie ruckssacks, backpacks and suitecases, and large one ie dumpsters, ULD and CONEX.

There are few cases in each size, so you can make do a dice roll to figure what case the PC will get.

Here is a few examples

PC: Hey Sarge I found his bag
Sarge: What in it
PC: Let see, two rolls of duct tape, a jar of hair(Human) and zip lock bag of mushrooms.

PC: I wonder what in that dumpster
GM: Car Parts for 1977 Ford Pinto and four 2x4 of Lumber(Pine) and 1400 empyt beer cans.

Cool. I'd really like to see it.

Ill post a excel file of my 2000 or so items that I have already databased as well.

I have come up with some interesting ideas about how to put them together. Like softskin items (bags, duffels, etc) have a base volume which increases as you add things to them.

I still need to work on some sort of system for rarity and cost, but as these are very variable I have not found a great solution for that yet.

Attached is an excel file with my data-based equipment. Strangely I mix KG and cubic feet, but that worked for me originally so I kept going with it.

Please note this database is centered of Morrow Project, so there are some things you are unlikely to see in real life, but what the project might use for reconstruction. Like 1kg cans of seeds and HDPE storage boxes for example.

Hmmm. This list is a bit winter heavy, but while you can always take clothing off in summer, two layers of light clothing (or the usual fatigues) won't help when its well below freezing with a wind blowing. I'm also always mindful of avoiding getting things cold and damp (that then stop working), as well as the ability to pack stuff.
