Getting back to the subject of selling equipment to the PRC, I just got in the mail a great book, "MASDC II AMARC 1982-1997" by Barry Fryer & Martyn Swann. It lists EVERY aircraft taken in to AMARC and scrapped or processed out between 1982-1997. So for the hard core ORBAT guys like me, we can figure out how many of what type of aircraft could have gone to the PRC and other air forces. ( I have the RAF getting the last 16 F-4J's to supplement their fleet of 15 they purchased in 1982). Feel free to email me with inquiries.
