These photos are apparently of a Palestinian using some sort of homemade grenade launcher. It looks like it could be a 40mm grenade in the barrel, or maybe some type of 40mm less/non-lethal grenade like round, such as tear gas.



It appears to work by striking the firing pin (a drill bit) with a stone. I would not want to be within 200 yards of somebody firing that weapon.

Clyde's supposed "custom made" scattergun


Clyde was said to have cut down the stock just past the buffer tube, shortened the
barrel of the B.A.R. and welded together three 20 round magazines to make it a 57 round
capacity. (causing the loss of three rounds, due to the weld marks between the magazines).

However, the theory of welding together three magazines would have not only placed the
magazines at an ackward angle, but the internal springs would no longer have the ability
to properly feed the rounds into the gun's chamber. Nevertheless, this weapon, with
the barrel shortened was a deadly combination. Image below shows a replica image
that I had created on the computer, showing how the scattergun would have looked
had it been possible.

I was working at a plastic Factory as mantance in 2004 and they post a notice If caught with anything that could be used a weapon you will be fired .
The company got mad at the Maintance dept because we refused to open our tool boxs that day the notice was posted .
Human Resorces Called the Dept into a meeting and threanted to write us all up when the maintance Foreman took the Pen from the Human Resorce manager and put it to his Neck and told him " All I need to do is add 10lb of Presure with the pen and I can kill you with it ".
And he remind the HR Manage that all 5 of the 1st shift maintance people were combat vets and knew how to kill someone with things other then knifes and firearms . That sign was taken down 20 min's later and replaced with a sign about FireArms or knifes over 3 inch long .

We had a First Sergeant like that at Ft. Stewart. One day during a barracks room inspection, he was raising hell in our room because of a Swiss Army knife he found the drawer of one of my roommates. Luckily the XO stepped in at just the right time and said, "First Sergeant, that's not a weapon. It's a tool. I have one in my pocket right now." Our XO was a Mustang that was a really good officer, and said what he said in such a tone of voice that the First Sergeant didn't say another word -- he just left the room. (And our First Sergeant was a scary guy.) And we never heard anything about Swiss Army Knives or multitools again -- which is good, because most of the company probably had one in their pocket.

Was doing some research on homemade weapons for Africa and came across this - figured it would fit in right in this thread - its from a small weapons survey from the late 90's in Burundi

Some craft weapons are produced in Burundi, where they are known under the generic name of mugobore. These locally made rifles consist of a metal barrel inserted in a piece of wood. The design is particularly crude, with a metal stick held by a rubber band that serves as a firing pin, and another metal stick used to eject the spent cartridge. The effective range of such rifles,
which are usually heavy and cumbersome, does not exceed ten meters. They can function with cartridges for automatic rifles,such as Kalashnikovs.

The main areas of production are the provinces of Bujumbura Rural, Bubanza, and Cibitoke, in the northwestern corner of the country.

Sounds like an interesting way to make an improvised weapon for your campaign
