  • Who are the moderators right now?

I have a weird situation in my PMs I need someone to look at, and I don't remember who to ask for help with it.

As far I know it's Targan, Webstral, General Pain, headquarters, and Raellus

Paul, I'll have a look without making any promises whatsoever. I've been lax in terms of looking at the tools. I'll need until tomorrow before I have time, though. School work is murder, and I only have a couple of hours of child care today.

Ask Targan to help you out; I sent him a PM about the possible problem.

We had a PM spammer yesterday. I was emailed about it and I removed the user and the 100 or so offending messages they sent. I think their name was Eternity or something and they were dormant for months before activating themselves. They may have even predated the registration enhancements that I added about a year ago.

Unfortunately I also banned Horsesoldier by accident due to a similarity in their user IDs. I have lifted that unintentional ban.

At the moment the Moderators do not have access to any of the PM moderation functions so if you see something weird just email me using "Contact Us" on the footer navigation.

That was the screen name -- Eternity, or something like it. Case solved. I just didn't want to cause a panic, or possibly insult a new legitimate user. Strange that the PM disappeared less than an hour after I read the email notification of the PM (I never actually read the PM itself). BTW, antivirus check on my computer underway.

Kato, thanks for dealing with this. Accursed spammers!

Looks like another one slipped under the wire....
                Solution. Lay more claymores.
If it moves, shoot it, if not push it, if it still doesn't move, use explosives.

Too bad you can't actually do that -- someone send you some spam, you hit a button, and their computer burns up. Someone invents a virus, you hit a button, and their computer explodes the second they touch it.

I much prefer using a trace program with an Ortillery guidance sub program.

                          Guys,

The problem is, if you can do it to them, these sociopaths can do it to you!
