Congrats, Web. I was a bit worried about having a daughter at first but she's awesome I wouldn't trade her for anything. I'm just not looking forward to the teen years... (she's 3 now)

    Have fun!

          Oh crap, there's another one!

If it moves, shoot it, if not push it, if it still doesn't move, use explosives.

And don't forget to sit on the porch polishing a shotgun with a hard look on your face when the boys come.

Thanks, all, for the many well-wishings. Currently, I'm using a blued Mossberg 500, but I'm thinking seriously about going to a stainless steel finish for effect. Also, I'm debating whether the pits outside her window should be filled with punji stakes or a fougas booby trap. I'll repeat what I told Rowen's grandparents: by the time my little girl is of dating age, I intend for her to be proficient in capoeira, jujitsu, and Smith & Wesson.

Go for a classic - 10 gauge, black powder, double barrel.

If it moves, shoot it, if not push it, if it still doesn't move, use explosives.

                  LOL

Just have a series of pits dug in the backyard...and when the boys show up, lock the ankle monitor on...check the GPS tracking feature in front of them...show them your collection of weapons and knives and make sure they see the Castration for Dummies book on your desk...
The reason that the American Army does so well in wartime, is that war is chaos, and the American Army practices chaos on a daily basis.

Congats to you amd the Mrs.

My suggestion (as a dad to two girls and grandpa to two more)

As soon as she turns about 12.....

Lock her in a high castle tower, Make sure the dragon watching over her is HUNGRY....

Oh yes, make sure that you DO show any young men that show up the DUNGEON... A few skelletons just for show

                    Seriously,

Always take time for the tea parties with the stuffed animals!!!

I'm planning on adopting a lot of these ideas for my own little girl - she's currently 4. 3 weeks today for the next wee one to arrive - if it all goes to schedule

What everyone is saying about the tea parties is so true! There's something special about sitting round the table and being "Beautiful Princess Daddy"

Wouldn't trade my 3-year old in for the world....but I'm deeply worried, everytime I take her to WalMart....she flirts with every man and women in the store.......when she hits the teens....

                                I'm so screwed!
