  • Happy Veterans' Day!

    Happy day, ya'll!

I don't kow if this is just a U.S. holiday or not, but thanks to our foriegner friends as well.
Just because I'm on the side of angels doesn't mean I am one.

Not a holiday but we have Remembrance Day in the UK.

On this Vets Day, I'm especially appreciative of my children. I'm making baby food in the food processor and doing yoga with my oldest (2.5 yr) instead of climbing into a bottle of whiskey. God bless the children we have protected.

As Simon says (sorry!) it's not a holiday here in the UK, but for us it's much more in tone like the US Memorial Day.
To put it in perspective, the BBC website has an article on "thankful villages"; the 52 villages in the UK (out of 16000) where no one was killed in World War I.
The world wars cost the UK many hundreds of thousands of lives with no part of the country untouched. But a handful of villages were still thankful.

We wish you well on your holiday, but spare a moment for our Fallen.

And in Australia and New Zealand. Lest we forget.

And most importantly it was the day I was born.
