  • 2013 Link Roundup

Just thought I'd post a bit of the 2013 chatter occurring elsewhere on the internet, lest we run the risk of falling into some kind of groupthink around here.

I've read the reviews and the quickstart rules. And i have to say

      1) the background, whatever they chose to go with, was going to be howled down. Everyone has their own views on what would/could happen. So i'm not surprised or worried that the background to the war has generated such negative comments. But to me, this is the smallest detail of the new product anyway.

      2) From my POV, the most important thing was the rules set. Would there be enough new rules ideas and mechanisms to give a Ref the means to umpire a game and allow players to focus on decisions and actions rather than worry if the rules work. And from my reading, the rules are being well received and discussed pretty positively. And from reading the quickstart rules they are different and they work well.

So for now V3.0 looks like a winner in my book.

When does the hard copy version come out I'm an old-fashioned guy who prefers paper over E-thing-a-ma-jiggers.

Keith's at the mercy of the printers right now - and after that, Customs and Border Protection.

However, you can always buy the PDF and take it to Kinko's for the best of both worlds - hardcopy for normal use, fully searchable PDF for taking on the road.

I hope for better luck than Pagan et al. had with their dual-stat reprint of Delta Green. That thing was 'on it's way' from China forever.
