  • I'm still around

    Hey, gentlemen,
I haven't posted anything in a while, been on a lurker mode. I can't even remember the last time I posted something. I started college this summer, going full time, 12 credit hours. Other then that, just keeping a low profile.

I do lurk every couple days and still enjoy the good info I find here.

    Later,
    Wes

Best of luck in school. If you don't mind, what are you majoring in

That sounds like a lot of natural sciences, applied mathematics, physics and the like... since i was always bad at those (apart from biology)...
i am always impressed by people dealing with these topics voluntarily! Good luck & have fun going to school again, Weswood!

This semester I'm taking Metallurgy & Ultrasonic Testing, the two hardest out of the required classes I'm told. Wish I'd know that before starting. Not doing too bad in Met, but UT is kicking my buttocks. I'm averaging a 65 but I'm one of the higher averages in the class so I don't feel too bad.

Some of the other testing methods are visual, liquid penetrate, magnetic & eddy current. I've got those scheduled for fall.

Once you get past the science & math, it's pretty interesting. Applications range from aerospace to oilfields. Basically everything that has metals.
