  • A Thanks to All Our Forum Veterans

I'd just like to say "Thanks For Your Service" to all the veterans in the forum (including non-US ones). To those of you who tried to serve and could not; I would also extend a "Thanks For Trying To Serve." The fact that one would even try to volunteer to go "In Harm's Way" speaks volumes about one's character....

So...Once again, Thank You For Service (or attempted service)!

    Swag.

Pretty much what Swaghauler said, same here.
"The use of force is always an answer to problems. Whether or not it's a satisfactory answer depends on a number of things, not least the personality of the person making the determination. Force isn't an attractive answer, though. I would not be true to myself or to the people I served with in 1970 if I did not make that realization clear."

From someone who wanted to serve, but was turned down, thanks to the vets, and a "you're welcome" to the OP.

I had a professor who wrote a letter of recommendation for me when I was trying to get into both Navy and AF OCS, and when I was turned down, he had a saying that he considered appropriate, and I do use it from time to time: "Involuntary civilian."
Treat everyone you meet with kindness and respect, but always have a plan to kill them.
