I once played a solo game of Airwar where I put up an Albanian MiG-15 against an F-15A. It a close run, but the MiG brought down the Eagle, though it was heavily damaged.

When my brother & I played a lot of GDW's Third World War game series, one of the two Polish MiG-21 counters regularly would knock down one or two F-15 or F-16 counters before being taken down itself. It was the same counter, always rolling a 6 after the better jets would roll low.
