  • Name of a Game?

Does anyone remember the name of that insane game we played on Army Day, about 10 people per side, and a giant canvas ball about 6 feet across

I mean we called it WAR BALL in '68 at Fort Ord
Tis better to do than to do not.
Tis better to act than react.
Tis better to have a battery of 105's than not.
Tis better to see them afor they see you.

Sounds like something that should have the words BEER or KEG or maybe TEQULIA or at the very least GROG in it.

Never did it, the only game that I can remember playing that was different than official rules was we played "Combat Football" Had the entire platoon on the field at once (mines officer), PSG was the QB.

We also played Combat Football as kids -- broke my left collarbone playing it when I was 12. My mother was such a mother hen about it that she kept me out school for four whole days!

Our Combat football was a little different -- the usual gang of kids (boys and girls), and you threw the ball up into the air and whoever caught it was it. Then everybody went after him to stop him from reaching the goal zone.

Nowadays, safety nazis would faint at the thought of such brutish fun, it's too many "Participation" trophies as well.
