  • Uh...Paul?

Anyone else getting this weird result when you visit Paul Mulcahy's site

it redirects you to some swewing and embroidery site.

Even when you google it; Paul's site on T2K is result 1 and this lady's sewing site is number 2.

    What going on

    I hope Paul is alright.

Still working fine for me. Googling gets local newspaper reports of the death last year of a rally driver with the same name.
My guess is your results are based on factors unique to you.

Yeah, the link for Paul's site, which I had favorited/bookmarked, now takes me to Laura's Sewing Studio.

Could you have malware messing with your searches

          The same with me.

I then entered pmulcahy into google and you get not only the main page but also 6 sub-pages (rifles etc) listed. But none of these worked.

Try a different browser and search engine I'm with .45 here in thinking it's a problem at your end given others such as myself aren't having any issues at all.

It's possible his domain name registration may have expired and someone who wanted the name jumped on it. Or that the service his uses is having severe technical issues.

If that were so, I'd also be having the same issues. All is normal from where I sit.

All is well from this POV.
However, this brings up a question: Are Paul's files and links preserved somewhere (Wayback Machine, perhaps) in case T2k or the Morrow Project becomes a reality and they are "lost"

I'm having the same problems, Paul's site is not coming up at all.

That's exactly what I used and it didn't work so there's clearly no consistency (I then tried via google and the link on my website and got the sewing site every time)

When I click pauls link I see his site. However that does not mean that the problem is local to individual users.

There seems to be a weird DNS propigation error

                            Check this link

Instant DNS Propagation Check. Global DNS Propagation Checker - Check DNS records around the world.

When I ran this a minute ago I got 2 different IP addresses

New York NY, United States Speakeasy
                            199.204.248.103

Mountain View CA, United States Google
                            199.204.251.141

I have only seen something like this happen when one moved dns records to another host and then changed ip addresses almost immediately (before the host change propagated). It took over a week for that to settle and about 50% of users saw some sort of problems during that time. (Of course none of the devs did so we had trouble diagnosing it)

The 103 address is the correct one I believe so google having the wrong address is troublesome but it may resolve itself.

Here is another link which shows 103 being more popular.
https://dnschecker.org/#A/pmulcahy.com so that give me hope.

                            Edit;
Unfortunately as Pauls site is hosted on a multi site server you cant simply go to the IP address. There are tricks to get there, but before I go into instructions on changing your DNS provider or editing you local host files lets hope it resolves itself.

                              Funny.
When I use Chrome I end up with the sewing shop.
When I use IE I end up where I want to be.

But the sewing shop reminds me of something.
If SHTF /T2k then it would be good if you had skill in sewing.

Long ago there was this storyline on Batman, where Gotham was thrown out of the USA.

And there the people who wanted to live in an area controlled and protected by a certain gang had to tell the gang what skills they had.
In the first picture was a mechanic. He was given a bicycle to repair. When he did, he was allowed to stay and given food.
In the second picture was an old lady who could sew. After she repaired some clothes she was allowed to stay and given food.
In the third there was a social worker who made people understand other people. The following picture was not clear. Either he was given a kick in his backside or he was impaled. I go for the second solution, because there was a note attached to his bottom telling everybody that this area was forbidden to all not of this gang.

So learn something useful or be turned into something useful.
