HMAS Hammersly would be just the same as every other Fremantle class patrol boat so why bother The other fictional units you mention are unique but any Fremantle class boat is one of 15 units.

My first unit's company clerk was a Corporal Hindmarsh. Her father before retiring was a DSM - Divisional Sergeant Major.
RSM's (Regimental Sergeant Majors) outrank God. DSM's outrank them.

Yep, that was an embarrassing performance by Hanson-Young, but the subsequent humiliation drove home her error quite firmly I'm sure. So I think "believed" is probably more accurate than "believes".
