Another thing to keep in mind about PNG is that the interior terrain is ROUGH!
It's not just hard to get around, it's damn near impossible without helicopters, and even then finding a place to land is close to a major miracle. Virtually no roads worth their name either, so those locations which are accessible by land, are foot access only for the most part.
