  • Cape May/Fort Dix Sourcebook?

I seem to remember that there was a Fort Dix/Cape May sourcebook a number of years back, but I lost a lot of data with a computer change and I'm not sure where that is now. A lot of the old fan websites are down. Does anyone know if it was originally in a Challenge article or if it was a fan made article If the latter, does anyone have a copy

I just checked drivethrurpg: they don't have that one. Irritatingly they have articles up to 39 and then 43 and after. It is apparently in issue 42. Thanks though, I'll see if I can track it down. I can always just make up my own stuff.

I can confirm what .45cultist said, I just got the page for issue 42 a few seconds ago (and also without accessing my account).
Here's a direct link if you need it: -

I don't know of any myself but it might be worth checking the "guides" to T2k. You can get them for free from Far Future here (they're at the bottom of the list of guides) https://www.farfuture.net/FFE-Guides.html

From memory they mention the articles from Challenge

nope, sorry, no sourcebook (yet) but I would welcome one using this as a foundation to cover the Middle Atlantic states in the aftermath of TDM, with expansions on the broad-brushed Philadelphia holocaust, the refugee Arc (Allentown/Bethlehem.Lebanon, Pottstown, etc), what's left in the lightly-damaged radius of the nuke attacks on the area (Delaware City, Marcus Hook, Philly refineries, Westville and Paulsboro, New Jersey), and possibly overlooked industrial centers and technology parks scattered around the metropolitan area. And special items like the Valley Forge Military Academy which might form a cadre of young but dedicated soldiers and leaders for local defense units, as well as be a source of firearms from the VFMA Rifle Club weapons/ammo storage unit.

Agreed, those would be interesting to develop. Currently, my game is set in Maryland, and obviously I'm going to be using elements of "Allegheny Uprising" and "Kidnapped" in upcoming adventures.

What I may do is adapt "Rifle River" to be set in the Chesapeake region, since I have the mini module.

Of course my setting differs in that it was not a nuclear war but a plague that reduced the population. Because of this, it is more possible to get power stations repaired and up and going. Also my party's home base is a more well set up version of Frederick and Fort Detrick.

Since I have also not gotten around to any major political divisions,r right now the USA is divded into Emergency Regions run by civilian authorities advised by FEMA, with the military elements providing support.

I replaced the nuclear target list with a modified InfectionOverrun list of major cities and transportation hubs.

I am going to be working on developments in Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, NewJersey and Pennsylvania.

You can use civil disorder and years of unchecked storms to hamper or lead those efforts where you want them.

FYI there is one more Challenge article that might interest you - Strangers in a Strange Land from Challenge 48 - its about a group of Soviet prisoners who broke out of prison after the TDM and are still present in the New Jersey area in 2001 - even to where they are considering an attack on the Cape May base

Group Medved has 112 effectives split into 4 25 man platoons and an HQ element. Could make an interesting addition to any possible sourcebook or adventure

I believe I've mentioned before that I have several Yellow Pages phone directories for central and western PA from the Twilight War Period. These may be useful to figure out just what is possibly available for stealing, err, salvagaing.

Enola, PA, and Harrisburg just across the Susquehanna River have extensive rail marshalling yards and freight handling yards. Oh, yes, a favorite local saying about people who live in Enola: Enola spelled backwards is "Alone".

I am surmising that Ft. Detrick might be slightly involved with the contagion
