  • T2k13 Rules Questions

Hey, hopefully Twilight 2013 (Twilight 2000 v3) is relevant to the forums.

Say one wants to do a Called Attack to Head on Aimed Burst Fire (5 round burst) using H&K MP5k at 20m (CQB band), while standing up in otherwise normal conditions.

-1 for targetting into CQB range
-3 for out of optimum range (GF)
-4 for Called Attack to Head

Total: -8 halved by Aimed Shot for -4

    +4 for 5 round burst
    --------------------------------------

    Got a few questions:

    * Am I on the right track and are all those shenanigans legal
    * Is the +2 damage from Called Attack applied to all rounds, even if they hit other regions
    * If one sustains injury less than the current wound threshold, is it completely ignored - ie. you can take the full clip and not even flinch Assuming the same location and damage always under the threshold.

Unfortunately since the closure of the 93 Games forums, I think the majority of 2013 players have drifted off to other corners of the internet.
However, there's a few people here who know the 2013 rules quite well - I'm not one of them! - but they aren't necessarily checking the forum every day (or even every few days) so you might not get any proper answer for a while.
Hopefully you'll get a proper answer from one of them soon.

Stainless is correct here. I mine it for ideas.

The adjustments you posted seem right according to my rules book. The one thing I would add that the Devs did differently is that I would apply recoil penalties to the shot while the Devs believed that recoil should only apply to follow-up shots. I strongly DISAGREE with this design philosophy based on my more than 40 years of shooting.

I've got nearly as much experience myself and have to disagree with your disagreement. The projectile has already left the barrel before any significant amount of recoil effects the shooter, provided they're actually holding it correctly. This could be modelled by requiring a minimum level of skill, or familiarity with a particular type (not model) of firearm to avoid first round recoil penalties.

As a somewhat more extreme example of the recoil issue, look at the three round burst of the G11. All three rounds have left the barrel before ANY recoil is passed onto the shooter.
If it moves, shoot it, if not push it, if it still doesn't move, use explosives.

Nothing happens in isolation - it's called "the butterfly effect"

Thanks for replying. What I find difficult to stomach is not the recoil, but the idea that a burst fire weapon would be able to headshot more consistently than a bolt action rifle, since the burst fire gets +#ofadditionalbullets of accuracy added.

Yeah, that's crap as anyone with real world experience can attest. Only solidly mounted machineguns MIGHT allow for that, but that's not a situation that happens much anymore. A Vickers locked onto a fixed line, or maybe a coaxial on a tank would qualify, anything less, yeah, not a chance. https://youtu.be/HSG2Flnc1Rs

I don't allow burst fire to be called shots, sorts most of the problems out
