If you can get the History Channel or National Geographic channel, I urge you to watch Life After People. The premise is different from T2K (the idea is that, for whatever reason, humankind simultaneously all vanish), but it does give a very good look at how fast human structures and landmarks would deteriorate. The power grid fails after only one day without supervision due to automatic overload cutoffs. After the power grid fails, breweries explode after less than a month due to carbon dioxide buildup in the fermentation vats. A lot of interesting things you might not have thought of. It doesn't all apply to T2K since there are still people around, but it's worth watching.

In case anyone is looking for this there is both a Documentary and a TV series done by the same people on the same subject. The Documentary was aired over a year ago and has a DVD out. The series is currently running and has run 4 episodes out of 10. In the US it airs on Tuesdays on the History Channel

It's an interesting show. I found the two-hour pilot, aired about a year ago, to be particularly enlightening. The series seems to just be elaborating on the premises originally presented in that first show.
I believe the series is based on the book The World Without Us by Alan Weisman. I haven't acquired it yet (read excerpts in Discover magazine)but I plan on it. I find having a print resource is usually more convenient than scanning DVRed shows or DVDs. But, for pure visual impact, the TV version is pretty effective.
It's usefulness for T2K is probably somewhat limited, although the stuff they've done on life 1-5 years after people is applicable. For the Morrow Project and similar long-view post-apocalyptic stuff, though, LAP and the WWU are pure gold.Author of Twilight 2000 adventure modules, Rook's Gambit and The Poisoned Chalice, the campaign sourcebook, Korean Peninsula, the gear-book, Baltic Boats, and the co-author of Tara Romaneasca, a campaign sourcebook for Romania, all available for purchase on DriveThruRPG:

Other History Shows
Not sure if anyone noticed but History had Armageddon Week.
Just looking at the DVR some shows you should catch are:
After Armageddon 120 Mins (Professors and Experts explaining in between A live-action dramatic story about a family in Los Angeles when a flu wipes out the population. Shows marauders and banditry on the roads and small towns closing themselves off. Very good for T2K info even though fallout and nukes arent covered)
Apocalypse How (2 Parter discussing different end of the world scenarios at length)
The Crumbling of America 120 Mins (Covers and discusses the national infrastructure of America. Its history condition and effects of its deterioration.
Day After Disaster 120 Mins (Examines the immediate effects and aftermath of a nuclear terrorist attack on the capital. I liked the coverage of the national command authority and the previous presidents plans for disaster)
Lost Worlds Examines several US Cold War Bunkers anf there construction very good visual reference)
For Morrow Maybe Earth 2100 Shows a grim climate change version of the next 100 years with the end being the fall of civilization
And has anyone seen the cities of the underground on secret soviet bases
It shows the Balaclava base in depth as well as something i couldnt believe
IT was called Object 221 I believe and was practically two office buildings underground with the top camo'd by fake row apartments. I have it on an old HD and could share it with those who havent seen it.My First GDW Game Long Before T2K
