  • US Embassy Staff

    Hello...

I have a question, Is there anyone on here who knows what the staff positions at US Embassies, and US Consulates are.

I know the USMC Embassy Protection Detail has Watchstanders, but I don't know what other positions exist.

Just an idea that the evacuation of State Department officials might make a good adventure...
Fuck being a hero. Do you know what you get for being a hero? Nothing! You get shot at. You get a little pat on the back, blah blah blah, attaboy! You get divorced... Your wife can't remember your last name, your kids don't want to talk to you... You get to eat a lot of meals by yourself. Trust me kid, nobody wants to be that guy. I do this because there is nobody else to do it right now. Believe me if there was somebody else to do it, I would let them do it. There's not, so I'm doing it.

Figured I would add my question here as well. Are embassy staffs subordinate to any particular Division or Unit. Same question about the guard staff for nuclear weapons on ships and bases.

Law put together an online campaign based around the evacuation of a US embassy in Africa. Hopefully it won't be too long before he returns from killing bad guys and could provide some info on this subject.

Law has detailed it out somewhere on his hard drive...

I seem to recll there are a number (maybe 6-8) of battalions, organized on a regional basis. They are independent units, with small detachments (less than platoon size) assigned to individual embassies. One interesting detail is that there are no officers assigned to individual embassy details - the only officers in the battalions are at the HQ locations, essentially administrative, located in friendly states (I seem to recall that the HQ for the European battalion, for example, was in London or Frankfurt).
I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

Re: the Embassy staff positions, it might be worth googling a couple of Embassies and see if you can get lists of key personnel...I found one link for the US Embassy in Tunis, but there may be others

ooooo, yet another thread to be hidden from the FBI, or is it CIA since it's dealing with outside the US....

Its broken down into regions. And the stations are also divided into regular duty stations and "hardship" stations. The hardship stations are usualy in 3rd World S-holes. The plus side is you get extra pay and you can live like a king.
