While on a general search for some Cold War themed movies I found this site
http://www.coastcomp.com/av/fltline2/avmovie.htm
It's a list of various aviation themed movies and gives a very brief summary of the movie and a note of the aircraft involved. It's an old list (it has notation...

OT - The Hurt Locker
Just watched The Hurt Locker the other day (its only just been released here). I liked it. I felt bad for the non-insane members of the EOD team in the film, their clearly unhinged team leader was obviously regularly putting them all at risk with his cowboy antics. I thought the British and other international...

Watched "When the Wind Blows"
Jason Weiser 03-06-2006, 07:00 AM Ok, Yes it was anti-nuclear, and yes, it was a bit as my wife would put it "hippie-dippie", but the characters got me to thinking....Jim and Hilda would port over to Twilight VERY well. How you ask Simple, they're in an out of the way cottage fairly far away...

Band of Brothers
DeaconR 07-04-2005, 01:56 AM I wonder if anyone has seen this series. If not, I highly recommend it. It is gritty and very realistic, and is based on the stories of veterans from the 101st Airborne. In particular, the documentary which tells the story in the words of the surviving veterans is very moving....Last edited by kato13; 02-08-2010, 01:24 AM.

Red Dawn 2010 rant!
The upcoming remake of the classic Red Dawn film of 1984 poses some reality problems for me, and an excuse to go off on a rant.
I could see a heavily armed Soviet Union pulling off an invasion of America in the 1980s with some help from Latin American commies, through launching a limited...

OT-Alexandra
Alexandra is a movie by Alexandre Sokourov. It's not entirely relevant to our topic but you might find some interest into it. Basically, it's the story of a russian grand mother visiting her grand son (a captain in the Russian Army) stationed somewhere in Tchechnya (may be Grozny).
It is...
