Loved the book. Looking forward to the film, although with some reservations. The fact that they are offering an explanation for the catastrophe leading to the post-apoc setting of the book already has be a bit worried about how true the movie will stay to the novel.
It's always a strange feeling watching something that you've loved and imagined and made your own take shape as someone else's vision. I felt that way when I first saw the opening scenes of Fellowship of the Ring. I also felt that way watching the beach storming scene in Saving Private Ryan, having read about the D-Day landings so many times since the time of my youth.Last edited by Raellus; 08-18-2009, 07:42 PM.Author of Twilight 2000 adventure modules, Rook's Gambit and The Poisoned Chalice, the campaign sourcebook, Korean Peninsula, the gear-book, Baltic Boats, and the co-author of Tara Romaneasca, a campaign sourcebook for Romania, all available for purchase on DriveThruRPG:

I agree with you Raellus.
BTW, the opening scene of the two movies you have mentioned strangely exceed the previous view I had in my mind... A notable exception. In particular and though I have contradictory feelings about the three movies based in "The Lord of the rings", the opening scene keep me holding my breath, stuck in my seat.Last edited by Marc; 08-19-2009, 03:10 PM.
