Not sure if you guys had a copy of this one I swiped off the desk at a deactivating unit...
FORSCOM Army National Guard and Reserve Unit List from October 1986I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

USAR Regimental System 1982 (the methodology used to pick prioritize Regts)
Final Draft to FORSCOM Reg 350-4 Training under CAPSTONE
(Missing Appendix G: WARTRAIN alignments and Appendix H Roundout units)
Final Draft of Consolidate AR11-22, AR 11-20 and AR 11-28 Dec 1986
Chico and Shrike, page 17 & 18, it states CAPSTONE was published in five volumes. Any ideas where we can get itLast edited by Louied; 03-13-2022, 09:43 PM.

Looks, so far, that the USAHEC doesnt.
I hope you're right about it though.

I was in the 28th in the mid-90s. My impression was that my unit (the signal battalion) was very proficient in its technical performance and utterly and totally lacking in tactical performance. When we have the occasional threads here about "what would have happened to you in the war" I always think my answer would be either "killed in an ambush driving around the division rear area" or "killed while sleeping because the guard was goofing off/sleeping/drinking". The battalion was basically a drinking club that wore camouflage and operated a MSE network...
My duties there concerned keeping track of the equipment and keeping the trucks and generators running (and it was post-Cold War) so I had zero visibility into what the wartime employment was supposed to be!
US Formations Staging Through the UK
a. II Marine Expeditionary Force (IIMEF)
Detailed accommodation requirements for II MEF were it to stage through the UK in wartime, have now been received from the US and work is in hand to identify and earmark suitable sites within the desired radius of the formation's arrival air and sea ports (Liverpool). The maximum requirement would be 28 individual unit sites or, if collocated, 11 larger sites to accommodate 40,600 personnel and their associated vehicles and equipment. The staging of II MEF through the UK will be simulated in Exercise WINTEX/CIMEX 89.
b. US Infantry Division
Whilst it has been confirmed that SACEUR now intends the 9th Infantry Division deploy direct to BALTAP without staging through the UK, the US are likely nonetheless to require staging facilities in the UK for the smaller 28th Infantry Division (17,000 strong). Details of the support and facilities which would be required for this formation are awaited from US staff.

It also appears, from the same document, that Canada formally requested that the UK allow them to establish a Canadian European Theatre Base to support Canadian Forces committed to NATO. They further requested facilities to store 16,000 tons of tri-service ammunition.
